Adelaide is a green and spacious city, yet it has large city infrastructure and technology to support the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia 2023 National Conference. This means it has everything you need as a delegate. This easily-walkable city includes hotels, advanced technology precincts and universities, and the main business district. It also includes an enviable variety of globally renowned restaurants and wine bars and a fun laneway culture. The airport is 15 minutes from the CBD and internally there is free transport. Pre and post touring world-famous regions of the Barossa and McLaren Vale are less than an hour away.
The CBAA acknowledges Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to lands, waters and communities.
We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and to Elders both past and present.
CBAA also honours the dedication and expertise of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander broadcasters and their work to strengthen and connect communities and recognises the vital role First Nations and community media plays in truth-telling and reconciliation.
We also acknowledge that the Adelaide Plains are the traditional Country of the Kaurna people and pay respect to their Elders both past and present. We are grateful for the opportunity to meet on that land, for which sovereignty was never ceded.
For the reference of conference attendees, the Kaurna translation of Adelaide Oval is tarntanya wama, derived from the word for Adelaide (tarntanya) and the word for plain (wama).
