The Australasian Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ASTSS) and Phoenix Australia invite abstract submissions for the Australasian Conference on Traumatic Stress (ACOTS) 2024. The Conference will be held from 7 - 9 November 2024, with all presentations to be delivered on display during the specified Presentation viewing sessions.

To complete the submission successfully, you will need the following information. Abstract submissions are due, no later than Friday 19 July 2024 by 5pm AEST.

  • Biography: Maximum 50 words, which can include institutional or research media links 

Presentation Title and Abstract 

  • Abstracts Length: 200 words (subject to abstract submission type) 
  • No subheadings are required for abstracts, but please ensure you address the Aims, Method, Results and Discussion of your study 
  • Text should be entered in sentence case. Please do not type abstract titles of text in all capital letters. 
  • Accepted abstracts submitted for presentation will be published for the Conference exactly as submitted. All submissions should be checked for accuracy and misspelling prior to submission. No further author edits are permitted once your abstract has been submitted.
  • Due to the small number of places available for Masterclasses, preference will be given to those focussed on building skills that have a strong evidence-base

  • Individual Paper: Length 12 minutes and 3 minutes for questions 
  • Symposiums: Length 45 minutes, presenters 3 - 5 speakers 
  • Poster Presentation
  • Panel Discussion: Length 45 minutes, 4 - 5 panel members 
  • Flask Talk: Length 3 minutes and 2 minutes for questions
  • Masterclass: 90 minute interactive session

Please do not send multiple submissions for the same abstract. To enable you to edit and access your abstract before the submission deadline please note your email and password. 

ACOTS will only communicate via email with the nominated contact for the abstract submission therefore it is imperative that the details given in the address for correspondence are accurate.  

It is a requirement that all presenters are registered for the Conference. Registration can be completed via the abstract submission portal and the deadline for Early Bird registration is Friday 13 September 2024.
