The NSCFA is an ATO-registered, tax-deductible health promotion charity dedicated to promoting the study and responsible use of stem cells to reduce the burden of disease.
The Foundation’s activities include:
The Foundation is led by an expert volunteer Board, with a diversity of scientific, medical and governance experience. The Chairman is Dr Graeme Blackman, AO, FTSE, FAICD.
The Board consults with leading stem cell scientists before committing funds to research and education initiatives.
MCRI Stem Cell Facilities
MCRI Stem Cell Medicine is internationally recognised for its research using human induced pluripotent stem cells and their subsequent differentiation into specialised human cell types and multicellular human 3D organoids. To support this research, MCRI has established state-of-the-art facilities. All facility services are available to internal and external researchers across the world.
Our iPSC Derivation and Gene Editing Facility brings together a team of highly experienced stem cell and molecular biologists experience to generate standard and gene-edited iPSCs on a cost-recovery basis that is extremely competitive with similar facilities around the globe. We collaborate with researchers to devise the ideal strategy for achieving successful outcomes based upon the ever-expanding number of gene-editing tools available.
Our Stem Cell Based Drug Discovery Facility enables researchers to progress in vitro disease models towards high throughput screening models for the identification of novel drug-like compounds. We contribute with drug screening campaign design, assay development and validation and drug screening for the identification of new drug candidates for the treatment of inherited diseases using human cells and tissues.
Sartorius is an international laboratory and process technology provider for the life sciences, biotech, pharmaceutical, and applied research industries. Our mission is to empower scientists and engineers to simplify and accelerate progress in life science and bioprocessing, enabling the development of new and better therapies and more affordable medicine. To support that, we bring creative minds together for a common goal: technological breakthroughs that lead to better health for more people.
The Lab Products & Services Division offers laboratories in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries as well as at academic research institutes innovative solutions for bioanalytics, in addition to premium laboratory products, consumables and services. Sartorius is among the market leaders in laboratory balances, pipettes and lab consumables. In the Bioprocess Solutions Division, Sartorius offers a broad product portfolio that covers all steps in the production of a biopharmaceutical. The company has held leading market positions for years in its core technologies, such as filtration, fermentation, cell cultivation and fluid management.
Interpath Services is a market leader in the Australian Scientific Industry, specializing in the sale, distribution and application training of Life Science consumables for the Pathology, Hospital, Medical Research and Scientific market.
Our major manufacturing & exclusive distribution partner, Greiner Bio-One specializes in the development & production of high-quality plastic laboratory products. The company is a technology partner for hospitals, laboratories, universities, research institutes, and the diagnostic, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
The Preanalytics business division, with headquarters in Austria, develops and produces innovative collection systems for human and veterinary blood, urine, and saliva samples.
Greiner Bio-One’s BioScience division, with headquarters in Germany, is one of the leading providers of specialist products for the cultivation and analysis of cell and tissue cultures.
As an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Greiner Bio-One is also a solid partner for industry clients working in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, diagnostics, and medical technology.
The Stem Cell and Organoid Facility at the Children’s Medical research Institute (CMRI) in NSW develops pluripotent stem cells technologies.
State-of-the-art stem cell technology to enhance translational research and expand the number of human organoid models available to support research in Australia.
The facility offers a range of custom iPSC services including organoid model systems such as cardioids, neural, retinal and kidney organoids.
Our goal is to create a broadly available resource of human iPS cells-derived products and derivative tissues to accelerate research.
We are continually striving to improve our already high degree of service with all development programs activated and designed with our customers needs foremost in mind.
Quality Technical field representation and Technical support are of the most important functions of the service we provide to the market. In addition, all aspects of Customer service including Computer functions are continually upgraded and improved to address our commitment to Service.
One aspect that separates Bio-Scientific from it’s competitors, is that we will attempt to source products for our customers from non-represented suppliers.
StemCore is an Australian Government supported service provision facility focusing on human pluripotent stem cells, differentiation, cell characterisation, gene editing and process development. StemCore is ISO9001 accredited and has a wide range of clients locally in Australia and abroad that span academia, industry, and clinicians. StemCore is focused on providing cost effective stem cell research tools to enable research outcomes, clinical translation, and commercialization. These services include the provision of NIH-listed human embryonic stem cell lines (hESCs), off-the-shelf and custom-generated human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), hESCs and iPSCs genetically engineered using CRISPR/Cas9, array comparative genome hybridisation karyotyping, and many other assays used in modern stem cell biology and functional genomics studies. StemCore also conducts training workshops, introducing biomedical researchers from diverse backgrounds to the skills essential for successful stem cell maintenance and downstream uses, and to the fundamentals of iPSC generation and genetic manipulation.
