AGCTS is generously sponsoring a large number of Postgraduate students and early career researcher (ECRs) to attend and present their research at the 2022 annual meeting. These Awards will contribute to the cost of attending the meeting.
To be eligible, Postgraduate students and ECRs from Australia and New Zealand must be current members of AGCTS and submit an abstract by midnight Friday, 12 August 2022, regardless of requests for oral or poster presentations as all abstracts will be peer reviewed.
Individuals who submit an abstract for the meeting, register as an AGCTS attendee and are in good financial standing, as a new or renewed member of the AGCTS, will be eligible.
Applicants can apply for AGCTS membership now or during the abstract submission process. All applicants must complete the application form for travel awards and prizes and email to sginn@cmri.org.au by midnight Friday, 12 August 2022. Abstracts will be peer reviewed and ranked to select the travel award recipients.
Please complete all sections of the form and provide signatures from both the applicant and supervisor.The awardees will be selected from the pool of applicants by the Executive Committee of the AGCTS, based on their submitted abstract fulfilling the criteria of scientific quality, innovation, and relevance to gene therapy. Prizes will only be awarded to applicants filling the above criteria, as determined by the judging panel. Successful applicants may also be contacted to provide photographs and/or testimonials. All awardees are expected to attend for the duration of the conference including the closing ceremony.
Travel Award Open to all AGCTS Members
One award of $1000 for an AGCTS member at any career stage. The recipient will be invited to present their research as an oral communication at the meeting.
Travel Award for ECR and Student AGCTS Members
One award of $1000 for either an Early Career Researchers (ECR) or student AGCTS member. The recipient will be invited to present their research as an oral communication at the meeting.
Student Member Conference Prizes
Up to two oral and two poster prizes will be offered for $250 each.
Panos Ioannou Young Investigator Award
One award of $2,000. For travel support to attend a Gene and Cell Therapy Conference (≤ 6 years post‐doctoral experience and late-stage PhD students).
One award of $AUD3,000. For travel support to attend a Gene and Cell Therapy Conference (≥ 6 years post‐doctoral experience; students are not eligible).
