At the heart of our business lies MACS Technology, a magnetic cell separation method based on the use of MACS Columns and MACS MicroBeads. Due to the gentle and effective nature of this method, isolated cell populations of interest are highly viable and pure. NanoString enables scientists across the globe to envision molecular interactions with three different systems, the nCounter® Analysis System, the GeoMx® Digital Spatial Profiler (DSP) and the Spatial Molecular Imager (SMI) platform (launched in 2022).
The GeoMx DSP, enables highly multiplexed spatial profiling of RNA and protein targets in various sample types, including challenging FFPE tissue. The combination of high-plex and high-throughput spatial profiling allows researchers to assess the biological implications of heterogeneity within tissues.
The new CosMx SMI will provide highly sensitive, sub-cellular imaging of RNAs and proteins directly from single cells within morphologically intact tissue samples. Complementary to the GeoMx DSP, they will span the continuum of spatial biology applications and will serve the needs of both discovery and translational researchers.

MCRI Stem Cell Facilities
MCRI Stem Cell Medicine is internationally recognised for its research using human induced pluripotent stem cells and their subsequent differentiation into specialised human cell types and multicellular human 3D organoids. To support this research, MCRI has established state-of-the-art facilities. All facility services are available to internal and external researchers across the world.
Our iPSC Derivation and Gene Editing Facility brings together a team of highly experienced stem cell and molecular biologists experience to generate standard and gene-edited iPSCs on a cost-recovery basis that is extremely competitive with similar facilities around the globe. We collaborate with researchers to devise the ideal strategy for achieving successful outcomes based upon the ever-expanding number of gene-editing tools available.
Our Disease Modelling Facility offers an automated platform for high throughput/high content drug screening of iPSC-derived 3D tissues. The facility offers automated data acquisition tools and data processing for modelling disease and drug discovery.
